SPORT IDENT Awards presented to Kris Jones and Cat Taylor

Martin Stone of Sport Ident very generously donated an SIAC active card to be presented to the best male and best female performances at WOC 2015. The recipients were Kris Jones and Cat Taylor.

Kris was given the award for his 8th positon in the individual Sprint distance in Forres.  Kris delivered a strong race with just one ,small but very expensive, mistake and after being screamed down the finish lanes by the enthusiastic supporters ended just 7.5 seconds away from a medal and 12 seconds away from the Gold!

Cat Taylor was given the award for her 5th place in the middle distance at Darnaway and her 6th in the long distance at Glen Affric. Two strong and consistent performances meant that she was one of only two female athletes to stand on the podium for both middle and long distance. An inspirational performance.

Both Kris and Cat are in the early stages of their international careers, their goals this year were about consistency and about being better at every aspect of their  performance than they were last year. They both achieved that and it is exciting to see them both gradually progress up the World leader board. They are strong role models and worthy recipients of these awards. Many thanks to Martin Stone from Sport Ident for his continued support of elite orienteering.
