Emily went into the Long race determined to bring her A game to it. Despite loosing concentration at just the wrong moment Emily took a wrong track and did not realise for some time however she fought back. Clawing back time little by little she pushed hard but it made for nerve-racking following of the race. A strong last half put Emily in the lead at the finish with just Gaelle Barlet who could beat her time. The seconds ticked by before Gaelle appeared and confirmed that Emily had taken her second Gold medal of the week by 38 seconds.

This is Emily's first medal at the Long distance discipline.

Clare continued to ride with maturity finishing in 15th place. She was not sure she would be able to complete this race due to her chipped shoulder but she rode well on the rough and technical terrain. The team are all looking forward to the relay race.
