The 2017 British School Score Orienteering Championships were held at Rother Valley Country Park, near Rotherham on Saturday 14 October 2017, hosted by South Yorkshire Orienteers and supported on the day by the British Schools Orienteering Association (BSOA).

Over 400 young orienteers took part travelling from as far away as the Isle of Arran and Torquay.

The linear area consists of four lakes, which made route choice challenging, with no one getting a maximum score.

The event was blessed with a warm and sunny day which added to the arena atmosphere and many people staying for the prize giving.  Pat Smith MBE Vice President of the Sports & Recreation Alliance, Nathan Lawson and Alice Rigby, British Orienteering Squad members presented the prizes.

The 2017 winning teams:

Primary Girls: Hunters Bar Junior, Sheffield
