Paul Murgatroyd, Head Coach of the GB Junior team, says:  "The unique terrain and challenging climate will make for a very tough, but fascinating, JWOC. Team GB have prepared well, having been out twice so far to the training areas, once on the Pre-JWOC camp last August and the second time on a self-funded trip this March, so they are all trying to leave as little to chance as is possible. We arrived on Thursday afternoon and will spend the next few days re-acquainting ourselves with the model areas and also giving the athletes the chance to fine tune their techniques and race strategies ahead of the first race on Monday. There is a combination of experience within the team, with, for instance, Fiona Bunn in her fourth JWOC, hoping to build on her first ever top 20 at this level in the Long race last year, coupled with newcomers, such as Alastair Thomas, Daniel Spencer and Niamh Hunter, all fresh from their exertions at EYOC in Bulgaria. The final year juniors, including Matt Fellbaum, Alex Carcas, Aidan Rigby and Chloe Potter, will all be hoping to leave their mark on the JWOC record books!”
