November Classic 2019

On Sunday Southampton Orienteering Club welcomed competitors to the 52nd Classic at Bramshaw Wood, one of the New Forest's best and least used areas.

After two days of rain the sun shone and over 800 competitors enjoyed challenging courses set by Planner Kevin Bracher.

The area is mainly open woodland and the map delightfully clear, with lots of white and relatively few paths.  The area is surprisingly hilly for the New Forest and has some interesting contour features.  The autumn colour was at its best and, after the rain, the marshes easy enough to identify on the ground!
