Looking Back at 2020: Overview Snapshot - from November 2020

Scottish Orienteering Association (SOA) - Scottish MapRun Events Soar.

The growth in popularity and availability of MapRun events has been fantastic over the last 8 months and it is now possible to find courses all over Scotland. It has also been great to hear of lots of people new to orienteering discovering the sport through trying MapRun courses in their area.

Launch of Equipping Teachers course in Northern Ireland.

Delivered over two courses to five schools and 16 teachers.

British Orienteering's 'Get Active this Autumn' Campaign. 

This was the second stage national push supporting clubs, engaging with families and fitness / outdoor groups to get active locally with the promotion of Permanet and Virtual Orienteering Courses.

Blustery winds blow away the cobwebs at Cleveland Orienteering Klub's Middle Distance Event.

Feedback from one happy club member was....
"This was an epic event! Extensive gorse, steep slopes, waist-high heather, crags, boulders, bramble.... and believe it or not, thanks to good planning, the courses were excellent though on the tough side of normal. Lots of intricate legs in the contour detail and great views of the seascape."
