South Ribble Orienteers enjoy an Easter Cracker at Lancaster University

Report & Photos by Martyn Roome, South Ribble Orienteering Club (SROC) Development Officer

What a great day to get back to Orienteering - Saturday 3 April 2021 saw the first in the South Ribble Orienteering Club – Spring Return to Orienteering Competitions!

This event was in fact, the reloaded New Year Cracker, postponed from 1 January 2021, and retitled the Easter Cracker. The venue was the University of Lancaster, scene of the JK Sprints in 2015, but using all the campus. There was one score course, to cater for all 100 entrants, won by Finlay Johnson, M20 of SROC. Our first SI event since the pandemic, it was very easy to organise with pre-entry only and lots of room for social distancing. It lays out the blueprint for our other events in the series, of which three more are set up with more in the pipeline. We are most grateful to the University granting us permission and being very helpful in the process.
