British Orienteering is proud to announce Annual Mapping Award Winners

British Orienteering Annual Volunteer and Mapping Awards Winners have been announced.

Today we were delighted to present the British Orienteering Annual Awards after a wonderful day of Orienteering competition in Swansea on Day 1 of the JK.  The awards were presented as part of the prize ceremony celebrations.

Traditionally, the three annual cartographic mapping awards, Chichester, Silva, and Walsh Trophies, would be awarded for maps first used in the previous year.  The Coronavirus epidemic severely limited the number of events held in 2020 and 2021.  Consequently, the Map Advisory Group has agreed to invite nominations in 2022 for maps first used in the two years between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2021.

The Bonington Trophy is for contributions to mapping which may have been made over an extended period of time.
