Report by Chris Smithard, Coordinator, Masterplan Adventure
Seven areas never before used and with a huge variety of terrain types from atlantic rainforest sitting on top of intricate contours, plantation forests on a set of mini ridges, castle sprints, and the stand-out favourite of Torinturk Forest.
Some long-time orienteers even described Torinturk as the best area they'd ever been to! Full of knolls, rock passageways, and picturesque coastal Legs. You can check out the maps from the first 5 days by going to the day's results and clicking the map tab.
There are three things that participants tell us they love about the event.
Which is good, as that's our aim for the event!
The NW coast of Scotland provides an almost endless opportunity for great orienteering which has hardly been touched by our sport. If you know of any potential areas please get in touch as we're always trying to narrow down our search. It's a time-consuming job to find the best!

Next year the event is likely to take place on the Outer Hebrides. And wow have we got some great areas lined up!
