Course description:This event will feature 2 maps. The Junior & Family Sprint will only use the larger scale • Map#1. The 3 longer courses will be double-sided, with Map#2 on one side and Map#1 on the reverse for the finale. • Map#1: St Katherine's School: Sprint specification 1:2,000 scale with 2m contours (originally created by Jamie Hayward in 2019 & updated by David Faulkner in 2025). Waterproof size A4 with courses overprinted. • Map#2: Pill & Ham Green: Sprint specification 1:4,000 scale with 5m contours (created by David Faulkner in 2025 with help from Chris Johnson). Waterproof size A3 with courses overprinted. • Loose control descriptions will also be available. Urban footpaths, residential streets, school playing fields and other grass/unpaved areas. Road shoes with good grips (but not spikes), running shorts and vests should be suitable. The longer courses (not the Junior/Family Sprint) will have route choices which may include busy roads and roads with limited pavements in some places. Participants must take extra care for road traffic when running on roads where there is limited to no pavement, and not take undue risk when crossing, particularly on blind corners or busy roads. There is a particularly significant double arch in the railway viaduct near the centre of Pill which the longer courses might encounter. A further explanation of how this has been mapped and how the area looks in reality on the ground will be provided prior to the event.
