During lockdown we have been working closely with SOA, sportscotland and the Scottish Governing Bodies of the other outdoor sports to create a plan for how orienteering activities can resume once lockdown starts to ease. Following the First Minister’s announcement on 28 May 2020, we are pleased to be in a position to share Phase 1 of our Route Map for Orienteering reactivation.

Join Southdowns Orienteers for a weekend of orienteering in Sunny Sussex
A full weekend of orienteering is scheduled to take place in the South Downs National Park, located near Eastbourne. Take part in a high energy middle distance race at Friston Forest. Head over to Sovereign Harbour for an exciting evening urban race and finish the weekend off back in Friston Forest with a long distance national event.

World Cup Round 1: Competition Round-up
The international season opened this weekend in Locarno, Switzerland, where the world’s best orienteers had the opportunity to show off their sprint skills, and we got a chance to see who is on form ahead of the World Championships, which will be held in Italy in July.
