The very first event took place in 1999, and has taken place annually, except In 2020, due to COVID.
This prestigious event will host junior teams from across England and Wales, who have won their regional heats, competing in the premier inter-club orienteering competition.
As well as the finals of the Trophy (for larger clubs) and Shield (for smaller ones) there will be an open competition, inviting participants of all levels to experience the thrill of orienteering. The event promises a day of adventure in runnable woodland terrain, suitable for beginners and seasoned orienteers alike.
David Dixon, chair of Hertfordshire Orienteering Club said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming young (and older) people to our area on 7 July. Northaw Great Wood is a special area which is well-suited to this competition, and we are grateful for the support of Welwyn-Hatfield Borough Council and Cuffley Active Learning Centre to enable us to use this venue.”
Join us for an exhilarating day of competition and support young athletes as they navigate the courses. Full details are available via Hertfordshire Orienteering Club's event page.
