Grandtully (pronounced Grantly) is well known for white-water canoeing on the River Tay, including sections of grade 3 water. This adjacent area was first explored way back in 1997 but the map was only finally produced in 2016 by Stirling Surveys for use at STAG's 35th Anniversary Event at Grandtully, using a very small part of the mapped area. The area was then used for Day 6 at Strathearn 2019 and the southern part - which was thinned in the Spring of 2019 - was available although not used as the Reserve Area.
Since then the venue has only been used for a STAG Coaching Day and SCOTJOS training.
Our thanks go to Shona Calder for her ongoing advice and support and to FLS East Area Staff Robin Lofthouse and Jeannie Grant.
