Temperatures soared up to 27 degrees at the first round of the World Cup today in Locarno - a little bit of a contrast from the snow blizzards our athletes found themselves racing in three weeks ago at the JK 2026!
The Sprint Race was an incredibly technical race with lots of dead ends that caught some of our athletes out.
However, five of our athletes had their 1st senior GB debut, and they really enjoyed the challenge, with most of the newcomers being very pleased with their performances.
Team GB's top finishers were Peter Molloy, who came in 13th place and Grace Molloy, who came 20th in the Sprint Race today at World Cup Round 1.

Grace Molloy said: "It was a solid race to start the international season, but a few too many mistakes to get a top result. The start of the race was very intense, with lots of tricky navigation and route choices. I felt stronger in the easier middle section and physically had a good race. I'm excited for the remaining races this weekend!"
Peter Molloy said: "I'm really delighted with the run and result today, a big World Cup personal best for me! I had a bit of a shaky start, but soon decided to trust my gut and focus on executing my routes rather than spending too much time choosing them. It was a real grind to the end, but I kept pushing all the way, and to have finished in the lead was very exciting! A great run with a tricky course punishing lots of the top runners today."
