Opportunity to represent British Orienteering on IOF Commissions

These voluntary roles provide an opportunity for people from across the international orienteering community to contribute their knowledge, experience and ideas to the development of the sport worldwide. 

British Orienteering is inviting members who are interested in contributing at an international level to register their interest in being considered for nomination.

IOF Commissions and Disciplinary Panel 

The opportunities available are: 

• Foot Orienteering Commission 

• MTB Orienteering Commission 

• Ski Orienteering Commission 

• Trail Orienteering Commission 

• Disciplinary Panel 

• Global Development Commission 

• Environment and Sustainability Commission 

• IT Commission 

• Map Commission 

• Rules Commission 

• Medical Commission 

How to register your interest 

Anyone interested in being considered should register their interest with Peter Brooke, CEO British Orienteering, providing a brief outline of: 

• Which commission you wish to be considered for 

• Your relevant personal and/or professional background 

• Your experience and knowledge relevant to the Commission or Disciplinary Panel 

• The strengths and skills you could bring to the role 

• Your particular interests in relation to its work 

• Why you would like to contribute to the development of orienteering internationally 

These are voluntary roles and provide an opportunity to share expertise, contribute to international discussions and help shape the future development of orienteering. 

Please note that registering an interest does not guarantee that you will be nominated. British Orienteering will consider the interests received alongside the requirements of the individual Commissions or Panel when determining nominations. 

There is also a limit of two representatives from each national governing body on any individual Commission or Panel. As a result, it may not be possible to nominate everyone who expresses an interest.
