Entries are open for the British Night Orienteering Championships 2027, allowing competitors to take advantage of discounted early-entry fees before prices increase on 1 December 2026.
The British Night Championships will take place on Saturday 13 February 2027 at Broughton Burrows in South Wales, with Swansea Bay Orienteering Club (who are set to commemorate their 55th anniversary as a club next year) organising the event.
Early entries will be available until Monday 30 November, costing £28 for seniors and £14 for juniors and students. Standard entry fees will apply from 1 December, rising to £30 for seniors and £16 for juniors and students.
A final late-entry window will run from 1 to 17 January 2027, with fees increasing to £32 for seniors and £18 for juniors and students. Entries close on Sunday 17 January.
The championships follow British Orienteering’s Competition Rule E, with championship classes for M/W16 and older. There are no non-championship courses, and organisers may refuse entries from M/W14 and younger unless competitors can demonstrate their competence in night orienteering.
Competitors should also note that, from 1 January 2026, non-members of British Orienteering are not covered by the federation’s public liability insurance.
Those entering are encouraged to notify organisers of any specific requirements, including medical needs, so that assistance can be considered where possible.
The event offers orienteers the chance to compete for national titles, with trophies awarded to winners in the highest category of each age class and medals for first, second and third place.
Make a weekend out of the competition by entering and taking part in the Welsh Championships on the Sunday at Kenfig Burrows, near Porthcawl.
Further information, including entry details and event updates, is available on the official British Night Championships website.
