Kath Savage has transformed LOC with innovative, family-friendly initiatives that attract newcomers and engage juniors. From seasonal trails and LOC family workshops to DVO Explorer Awards and MapRun Meet-Ups, her efforts promote inclusivity, fun, and progression. Her creative communication and strong community links have boosted participation, club identity, and wider sport awareness.

Joe Hudd, Frank Townley, and Joe Sunley were hugely involved the organisation and success of the World Orienteering Championships, contributing to planning, logistics, IT, and marshalling. Their tireless dedication extended to Sprint Scotland, WOC test races, and Big Weekend, showcasing outstanding commitment to volunteering and the future of orienteering in the UK.

Navigators were put to the test today at JK 2025's location for the Long race: Wharncliffe. Having played host to several British Championships and other major events over the years - including the JK Long back in 1978 - Wharncliffe proved itself as a rock-hard area, ideal for this year's JK Long.

Changes to Scotland’s Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme from 1 April 2025
The PVG scheme (equivalent to DBS scheme) helps ensure that people who are unsuitable to work with children and protected adults cannot do regulated roles with them. From April 2025, it is an offense to have an individual in a regulated role with children and protected adults without PVG scheme membership.
