Introduction to Event Organising eLearning Course – goes live

After 6 months of development and with sterling support from Pauline Olivant (NOC) ensuring the educational robustness of the course,  the course is now live. Many thanks to our course testers who we are indebted to for their excellent feedback.

This course is aimed at current and experienced Orienteers who wish to become a Level D/Local Event Organiser.

This course aims to provide prospective Level D/Local event Organisers with an overview of the requirements and considerations that may arise in staging a Level D/Local orienteering event.

This course focuses on:

  • Initial event planning
  • Access and the Environment
  • Tasks to undertake pre, during and post the event
  • Safety, Safeguarding and Welfare.

By the end of this course, you should feel more confident to deliver a successful event which meets the needs of participants, officials, volunteers and supporters.

The course will take approximately an hour to complete, and you will also receive the following: 

  • Certificate 
  • Quick links to supporting resources and guidance

This course is priced at £10.00 per enrolment.

Before you can organise a Level D/Local event you must have completed the British Orienteering Event Safety Workshop or Event Safety E-learning Course and have read current British Orienteering rules related to Level D/Local events.
