World Cup Round 1: Relay Results

The final day of World Cup Round 1 saw the Relay Race taking place. Here are the results from the competition.

Concluding the competition on Sunday was the Men’s and Women’s relays, with 40 teams in the Women’s relay starting out in the sunshine on the warmest day of the week. 

GB Women’s 1, made up of Jo Shepherd, Grace Molloy and Alison Smithard, finished in 13th position (7th nation). Jo had a good strong first leg, followed by Grace Molloy with another good leg after a few small errors early on and Alison Smithard on the anchor leg who managed to keep ahead of the French team. The Women’s 2nd team (Chloe Potter, Rachel Brown and Niamh Hunter) finished in 30th. 

In the Men’s, Luke Fisher led the team out with a good leg, being positioned very well until dropping back at the end of the leg, Joshua Dudley took in a few places in the fast terrain and Ali Thomas on the anchor leg brought the team home in 17th (10th nation). The Men’s 2nd team of Peter Molloy, Charlie Rennie and Euan Tryner finished in 32nd.   

This starts a busy international period with JWOC starting in less than a week and WOC at the beginning of July.
