Simplifying Orienteering for Universities – Free Guide for Clubs and Staff

9 September 2025

British Orienteering has created a brand-new resource designed to help universities, university clubs and British Orienteering clubs showcase the many benefits of orienteering to both students and staff.

The resource includes a clear introduction to the sport — highlighting its accessibility, inclusivity, and unique blend of physical and mental challenge — alongside practical guidance for universities looking to support orienteering on their sites.

Available to download for free from our Club Hub, the short guide aims to simplify and demystify the sport, opening up new participation routes for students, staff and local clubs. By making communication with decision-makers simpler and providing tools for clubs to engage with staff, we are hoping that this resource will encourage more institutions to welcome orienteering and enable exciting new campus-based opportunities.
