The National Running Show brings together thousands of runners, be it road, trail and club athletes making it a fantastic opportunity to help change the perception of orienteering and show how relevant, accessible and beneficial the sport can be to a wide running audience.
Throughout the show, orienteering will be highly visible. Branded kites, maps and checkpoints will be positioned around the Expo, creating a strong visual presence and a genuine talking point for visitors. Our free orienteering trail, which can be completed at any time while people browse the show, is hoped to encourage attendees to engage with the sport in a relaxed and informal way and visit the stand for information on how to get going in the sport.
The trail connects a wide range of major running and outdoor brands featured at the show, including SportsShoes.com, ASICS, Altra, Suunto, Buff, Shokz, COROS, Instinct Trail Inspired, Normal, Absolute360 and OTE Performance Nutrition. Working alongside these brands, many of whom are involved in the Quid Games, helps position orienteering within the wider running landscape and highlights its relevance as a complementary training tool.
For many runners, orienteering offers something they may be missing from their current training: decision-making under pressure, varied terrain, mental focus and purposeful intensity. Our aim at NRS26 is to showcase how orienteering can help runners take their training to the next level, whether they are looking for performance gains, variety, or a fresh challenge. We’re not there to replace their running choices, but to compliment them.
Above all, our presence at The National Running Show is about outreach, connecting with new communities, starting conversations, and continuing to share the sport with a wider audience. By making orienteering visible, accessible and engaging in new spaces, we can inspire more people to discover what makes the sport so unique.
If you’re attending The National Running Show, we’d love you to visit us at Stand E83, try the trail, and help us spread the word.
