The Lakes 5 Days is back in 2026!

We are delighted to confirm that entries are open for the Lakes 5 Days. The event will take place from Sunday 2 August to Friday 7 August 2026.

Orienteering Image

White, Yellow, Orange and Light Green colour-coded courses are available. In addition, there will be String courses provided each day for young children, using special maps. For full event information, please visit the official website

Entry prices will rise on 30 April 2026.

Day 1 - Aughertree (Long)

Day 1 is being hosted by Border Liners Orienteering Club (BL) as a Long race.

The area is open fell near Uldale in the North Lakes.

Day 2 - Bessyboot (Long)

Day 2 is being hosted by West Cumberland Orienteering Club (WCOC) as a Long race.

Bessyboot is a section of open fell in the Borrowdale Valley.

Day 3 - Yewdale Fell (Long)

Day 3 is being hosted by Lakeland Orienteering Club (LOC) as a Long race.

Thanks to Rydal Estates for permission to use the area.

Yewdale is a section of open fell at the bottom of the Wetherlam ridge in the Central Lakes, above Coniston.

Rest Day

The intention is to put on either a Sprint race or Short Urban on Wednesday August 5th 2026.

Day 4 - Bigland (Middle)

Day 4 is being hosted by Deeside Orienteering Club (DEE) as a Middle race.

Biglandis a wooded slope to the south of the village of Haverthwaite.

Thanks to Mr Wilkinson, Mr Klijn & Mr Fell for permissions to use their woods.

Day 5 - Hampsfell (Long)

Day 5 is being hosted by South Ribble Orienteering Club as a Long race.

Hampsfellis an area of Limestone pavement above Grange-Over-Sands.
