CASTLEWELLAN CHRISTMAS CHALLENGE COURSE

It's only cold if you are standing still! Get out there this December with Tollymore Orienteers!

Tollymore Orienteers invite you to the perfect socially distanced adventure around Castlewellan Forest Park.

What is the Castlewellan Christmas Challenge Course? This is DIY Orienteering – all you need is your phone, an orienteering map, and a sense of adventure! You will be using a smartphone app called MapRunF, everything you need to know about MaprunF can be found at www.niorienteering.org.uk/diy-orienteering/

Who is it for? This challenge is suitable for all levels – families, runners, dog walkers, youth groups – you name it! This is the perfect socially distanced activity with no touch points and plenty of fresh air. This is a great way to challenge your friends and you don’t even need to do the course at the same time or even on the same day – all results will appear when you are finished.

How do I get started? Simply download the map. Maps are just £3 per download. This money will go towards updating the Castlewellan Forest Park Orienteering map which will ensure more adventures for everyone. Then get yourself set up on MapRunF and head to the start by the lakeshore car park. Use the code printed on the map to activate the course on MapRun.

The course is open from Saturday 19 December 2020 until Christmas Day, Friday 25 December 2020.
