Thetford Forest has acres of Scots and Causican Pine, Larch, Beech and Silver Birch. The Forest is a wonderfully mysterious place to explore as it is crisscrossed with miles of walking and cycling trails; some are suited to families, others for the more experienced hiker and cyclist.
High Lodge (IP270AF) is on the Brandon to Thetford Road (B1107) which is easily accessible from the A11. It is less than 30 minutes from Bury St Edmunds and under an hour from Ipswich, Cambridge, Kings Lynn and Norwich.
Unfortunately, it is not easily accessible by public transport; though there are train stations at Brandon and Thetford from which it can be reached easily by cycle; for walkers the only means is by taxi.
There is a very large car park.
