Northumberlandia
Unique human landform sculpture of a reclining lady. Made of 1.5 million tonnes of rock, clay and soil, she is 100 feet high and a quarter of a mile long.
Use postcode with care as it also refers to the former opencast mine! Satnav beware. Refer to OS or Google map before travel (Northumberlandia Car Park, Blagdon Ln, Cramlington). Follow brown signs.
The approach from the car park and the perimeter track is suitable for wheelchairs. An able-bodied companion will have to read the markers. When no staff are available, access is with a RADAR key. You are advised to consult the Northumberlandia website.
The course pack carries this message: "Please remain on the paths and do not scramble up or down the grass slopes." There is real concern regarding erosion. Some minor paths marked on the map may be closed off.
