Shorne Country Park (Short and Long Course)

Where: Start and Finish for all courses are in Shorne Woods Country Park just north of the car park. The short course is entirely within the park with no roads to cross. The long course visits Brewers Wood and so there is a road and the car park entrance to cross.

Parking: At Shorne Woods Country Park car park, Brewers Road, Shorne, Kent, DA12 3HX. Take the Cobham /Shorne turning off the A2 dual carriageway and follow signs from there to Shorne Country Park.
Parking is hard standing with a £2 charge on weekdays and a £3 charge at weekends. You can either pay using coins or by phone. The location number for Shorne Woods Country Park is 800274. The car park gets very busy from late morning until mid-afternoon on many weekends.
The Park opens at 9 am and closes at dusk. There are toilets and refreshments in the park. The café is doing takeaways only (hopefully this will continue!) and please remember a mask if you wish to visit it!

When: Any time. Start at any time you choose. There is a choice of two Line courses where the controls have to be taken in order.

A short course (2.6km) with 9 controls. or Long Course (5.5km) with 19 Controls. Both are available on MaprunF.

There is no time limit for completing either course. The App uses the DFOK map for both courses. Look at this map for the exact location of the start. Download the App MapRunF to your mobile phone then within the App, go to Select Event then scroll down to the UK, then Kent and the Gravesend folder. The events are ShorneCP Long PXAC, and ShorneCP Short PXAC.
