War Memorial Park is an accessible Parkland area with free car parking close to the centre of Coventry. It is open every day for 24 hours.
There are 4 Orienteering Courses suggested, from 1.9km Yellow suitable for Novices to 4.7km Green course which is most difficult.
The Start and Finish are just outside the Visitor Centre in a glass-fronted notice board box.
The Visitor Centre is open every day from 9 am to 4 pm with toilets to 4.30 pm. There may be maps available from here (£1), but it is safer to download free from the British Orienteering website. A map will be emailed to you.
Other Things to do in the Area
In the park, there are extensive children's play areas, including a skateboard park.
There are also Tennis and Bowls facilities (last booking at 3.30 pm) and toilets which close at 4.30 pm. Enquiries Tel. 024 7678 5764.
A new 'Foot Golf' course has been installed on the former pitch and putt course. Footballs can be hired from the Visitor Centre for £1. (or bring your own). There is a moderate charge for Adults and Juniours for this game.
