Details

Description:Terrain: Sand dunes and grass-covered slag ridges give a very technical relief with a profusion of hills, knolls, gullies and depressions. There are many paths, some of which are very distinct and afford fast progress through the dunes, but please note that it has not been possible for the map to show all the less-distinct paths in this complex area. The sand is quite consolidated on the landward side but becomes soft close to the beach. The Marram grass can make life quite uncomfortable off the paths. Safety Full leg cover will be compulsory due to hard slag. There are small cliffs, steep slopes, ponds, marshes, fences, brambles and some pieces of sharp slag in the competition area. Consider these whilst competing. Map: New map by Paul Taylor. Scale TBA. 5m contours. The courses will be overprinted on the maps, which will be printed on waterproof paper.
