Young leaders gain experience of helping with the organisation and delivery of Orienteering exercises, activities and competitions for their peers and are supported to start the development of the skills needed to take on greater responsibilities.

Course aims

• Empower young people aged 8-18 years old with the skills to lead and inspire through orienteering.
• Gives a practical introduction to leadership, giving participants hands-on experience in organising and delivering orienteering activities and competitions.
• It’s the perfect first step for those looking to build confidence, take initiative, and grow into future leadership roles.

Who can apply?

Tutors may include:

• School staff
• Youth workers
• Outdoor Centre Staff
• Leaders from uniformed groups who have completed the British Orienteering Young Leader Tutor eLearning.
