Sarah Rollins (BAOC) followed up her solid performances at the JK to win the British Elite Middle Championships with Matt Crane (SYO) securing the men’s title.

Jenny Johnson adds, "Hopwas provided a varied challenge to Britain's elite orienteers with Sarah Rollins (BAOC) and Matt Crane (SYO) proving to be the champions on the day. For Matt Crane this was his first ever UK Cup victory and he held the trophy over his head with delight at the prize giving. Sarah showed she is in fine form on her return from pregnancy building on her wins over the JK weekend to win the British Middle title once more.
Australian team member Grace Elson (SYO) proved she can cope with the British weather to take the silver medal despite a mistake early on whilst Jenny Johnson (SYO) had a consistent run to take the bronze just 3 seconds clear of Helen Winskill (SYO). In the men's race Oli Johnson (SYO) had a lead of 30 seconds going into the penultimate control but took a chance going straight which didn't pay off - losing time on both that and the final control. It was however good enough for him to take silver in front of this year's top-tip and JK middle winner Scott Fraser (EUOC).
Thanks to OD, looking smart in their new club kit, for a great day's racing despite the hail showers - it was good timing with the sun out for most of the seeded runners!"
