Tomorrow (Thursday 30 September) will see the start of the final round of the Orienteering World Cup with two individual competitions in the forests of Cansiglio in the Veneto region of Northern Italy.

The Long-Distance Race for both the men and the women is located at an elevation of 1,000 to 1,400 m above sea level and the terrain features typical Karst topography with valleys and sink holes with many point details, moderate to steep slopes, open beech forest and with runnability somewhat reduced by rock underfoot.

With two individual competitions remaining in the 2021 World Cup it is looking to be a close battle between Simona Aebersold (SUI) and Tove Alexandersson (SWE) for who will be awarded as the top overall orienteer of the year for the women. With Tove also looking to win her 7th consecutive World Cup title.

The British Team will be hoping they can continue with the solid performances they have achieved this year across all disciplines.

The LONG distance, tomorrow, Thursday, will have a simple free broadcast with ‘finish-camera’ + arena speaker. And the Live GPS coverage will be poor. The best way to follow the event is through arena speaker + live results.

Middle and Sprint Relay (Saturday and Sunday) will have full TV Broadcast (Sweden and Norway) and English + Russian speaking Web-TV broadcasts on LIVE orienteering (Pay per view, 10 EURO for both competitions).
