There are two levels of British Orienteering membership:
Senior (£15) – any member aged 21 or older at the end of the membership year
Junior (£5.00) – any member aged 20 or younger at the end of the membership year
Remember, if you join a club you may have to pay a club membership fee as well.
To get the most out of your membership and the orienteering community we recommend that you join your local club (and their Association) as well as British Orienteering.
Most clubs organise training opportunities and social activities for their members so it is a great way to improve your orienteering skills and make new friends. You can find details of your nearest Club by using the search facility.
However, if you would prefer to just become a member of British Orienteering, simply select 'BOF' when you are asked to choose a Club and Association to join.
British Orienteering membership runs for a calendar year from 1st January to 31st December.
Membership renewals start on the 1st of November. If you are a new member wishing to join in November, then your membership period will run from the 1st of November to the end of December of the following year. However, an AGM decision was taken in 2022 to extend this period for NEW members from 1st September 2022. Any new member joining on the 1st September your membership period will run from the 1st September to the end of December the following year.
British Orienteering members are bound by rules as set out within the articles and by the anti doping rules and procedures found here.
You can phone the National Office on
01629 583037 to join and pay by credit or debit card.
