British Orienteering Annual Awards 2023: Mapping Award Winners announced!

Following our news story announcing the Club, Coach and Volunteer Award Winners 2023, we are delighted to present the Mapping Award Winners for 2023!

Maps are an essential element of our sport, which is why each year we award a number of trophies to encourage high standards of mapping and related activities.

Mapping Award Winners 2023

  • Bonington Trophy Award Winner: Stephen McKinley, Southern Navigators
    Map area: Multiple locations including Long Valley South, Wellington College, Cove Brook/wider Farnborough area, Rodborough Common and Puttenham Golf Course.
  • Chichester Trophy Award Winner: Greg Best, North Gloucestershire Orienteering Club
    Map area: Mallard’s Pike
  • Silva Trophy Award Winner: Graham Gristwood, Forth Valley Orienteers
    Map area: Queen Victoria School
  • Walsh Trophy Award Winner: Alasdair Pedley, Auld Reekie Orienteering Society
    Map area: Bughtlin

Congratulations to all of our Mapping Award Winners this yea! They are currently receiving their awards at Day 1 of the JK Orienteering Festival 2024.

We would also like to take this opportunity to recognise all our nominees across the award categories for 2023. Your work is extremely valued and we as a National Governing Body appreciate that without your efforts, our sport would not thrive as much as it has over the past year!

As with the Club, Coach and Volunteering Awards Winners, from the week commencing 1 April 2024, we will be sharing daily news stories, including more information on our winners of this year’s awards.
