Euromeeting 2023: Team announcement and how you can get involved

We are delighted to announce the team representing Great Britain at the Euromeeting 2023.

Euromeeting is a warm-up event for WOC 2024, with maps and courses from the WOC 2024 team. It is expected that many international teams will be taking part, so this is a good chance for the GBR team to develop experience in high-quality sprint races highly relevant to WOC 2024.

Programme of events for Euromeeting 2023

Friday 13 October – Dunblane

  • Mixed Sprint Relay, start mid-afternoon.
  • The public race will comprise a succession of mass start races using the relay courses once the Euromeeting Mixed Sprint Relay is complete.

Saturday 14 October – University of Stirling

  • Knock-out Sprint, Qualification race am, QF/SF/F pm.
  • The public race is 2 individual sprints, one mid-morning, one late afternoon.

Sunday 15 October – Stirling

  • Individual Sprint, morning, with 1 minute start interval, timings will depend on size of entry.
  • The public race is the Stirling City Race (urban event – part of the Scottish Urban Orienteering League).

The Euromeeting races on Saturday and Sunday are also offered as open World Ranking Events (WREs) and so provide a great opportunity for aspiring elites to come and run against some of the best in the world!

The whole weekend is being staged by Forth Valley Orienteers and alongside the international races is their 'Stirling City Race Weekend', with a prologue on the Friday and an overall competition made up of three public races across Saturday/Sunday.
