Joe Fermor-Worrell is the new Club Support Officer at British Orienteering

Having been involved in the world of disability sport from a young age, Joe took part in a range of different inclusive sports alongside his brother, who has spina bifida. Together, they both took part in adapted athletics, football, equestrian vaulting, finally finding their passion for wheelchair basketball.

Joe, and his brother Jack, competed for the Wales national team at U-15, U-19, and U-23 level before Joe continued playing the sport after his brother left for University. Since then, Joe has played wheelchair basketball at the highest domestic level, before turning his attention to refereeing – which has led him to referee up to international level in the UK, Germany and Croatia alongside his university studies.

Since joining British Orienteering, Joe has had his first experience taking part in a Sprint Event, and is enjoying learning all he can about the sport. Utilising his life experience within disability sport, Joe’s always looking to help make our sport available and accessible to everyone possible.

Joe’s inbox is always open, and he’s looking forward to meeting the people that make Orienteering the brilliant sport it is. You can contact him at: JFermorworrell@britishorienteering.org.uk
