Parking information:Approach via the A283 taking the turning to the west into Greatham Road, then turning south after 500 metres onto a hard track into the woods. Please drive slowly along this track, as competitors may be crossing it on their course. Parking is some 700 metres down the track, at the Old Sawmills. £1 parking fee.
Dog rules:Not allowed onto the courses as there are a number of wildlife sensitive areas (including a Heronry). Note that the competition area is a private estate without general public access.

Details

Description:Low-key Saturday morning event aimed at local Orienteers and newcomers of all ages, including families. Forms part of the SO spring league (February-May). 4 courses - Blue & Green for experienced Orienteers (approx 6km & 4km), Orange & Yellow for newcomers, families & children (approx 2.5km & 1.5km). Turn up and enter on the day - no pre-booking required.

Course description:Map Details:- 1:10000 with 5m contours. Fully revised in 2014 with annual updates since then. Terrain Description:- Mixed woodland with a network of rides and paths. Generally fairly flat, but with several low hills. Some parts of the area are low lying and may be waterlogged following the very wet weather over the courses of the winter / early spring
