Courses

Course description:It’s a fairly small area, with the terrain a mix of open grazing land with scattered trees and more densely wooded areas. The higher southern areas are generally more open, while woodland dominates the lower northern areas. The low level vegetation is generally a mix of bracken and bramble, with courses designed to miss the worst areas. As you move from wooded to open the boundaries can be fairly vague with a good bit of semi open type terrain. There is a fairly extensive path network but as always the smaller paths could be tricky especially in the more open areas. There is a road and track on the northern edge which is marked out of bounds, you need to stay on the woods side of the fence by the road. There may be animals grazing. The area is popular with walkers, horse riders and cyclists, please be careful. Updated 1:7500 scale map with 5m contours, updated Winter 2024 by Trevor Crowe. The start and finish are a maximum of 750m from the carpark, a 10 minute walk. This is along a single track minor road, please take care. The start and finish are adjacent to each other. There will be one start for all courses. Start times from 10.30am to 12.30pm. It will be a punching for all courses. Control descriptions will be printed on the maps with loose descriptions available at the start (written descriptions for Orange and Yellow only).
