Congratulations on your selection to compete for GBR at the 2018 World Orienteering Championships.

Alice Leake

Who was the first person you told the news to about being selected for the World orienteering Championships?
AL:  "My mum (and number one fan)."

What made you choose orienteering over any of the other available sports?
AL:  "The friends I made, the places we travelled to, and that feeling of adventure that only orienteering brings."

Where is your favourite place to orienteer?
AL:  "I love a nice technical housing estate."

What is your favourite training session?
AL:  "Intervals on the track."

How are you preparing for the World Championships in August?
AL:  "I’ve been practicing orienteering twice in one day, doing some training sessions under pressure, looking at old maps of the area, and we’re heading out a few days before the championships for final preparations."

Who or what will be your biggest threat?
AL:  "My own nerves on the start line."

Thank you, Alice. Congratulations again on being selected to compete in the World Orienteering Championships. We wish you all the best with the rest of your preparation!
