Why not challenge yourself and Get Active this Autumn?

Are you finding these darker nights testing after a long day at school or work?  Feeling like you have been sitting about for months on end – and just want to be doing something different?

Autumn exercise is important for maintaining physical and mental health and Orienteering is extremely well placed to provide an opportunity for individuals, couples, and families to enjoy in a socially distanced way.

Orienteering is unique in that it can be enjoyed locally and is suitable for ages and abilities.  Anyone taking part in Orienteering activity must do so in line with the restrictions in place for the area in which they live. Latest guidance can be found via our COVID-19 web page.

There are over 500 Permanent Orienteering Courses across the UK providing opportunities of discovering the outdoors locally where you live in a socially distanced way.  Some clubs have also developed these virtually, so you can simply complete courses with your GPS smartphone or watch. Permanent and Virtual Orienteering Courses can be completed at any time, and at your own pace. You just need to download a map and away you go!  For families too there are also a great set of FREE downloadable activities  to be enjoyed at home, in the garden or in your local green spaces.

Don't forget!
Tell us how you get on - and help us to inspire and encourage others to take part by posting your orienteering photos on to the British Orienteering’s Facebook page and Twitter account. Don't forget to include the hashtag #getactivethisautumn for a chance to win fabulous prizes (RRP £94) donated by BikeBikeLights. For more information and terms and conditions see here.

What are you waiting for?  Get out locally and enjoy this autumnal season!
