GB Team to Junior European Cup

Returning from Blankenburg, Germany the team of 11 athletes supported by Team Staff Jon Musgrave and Clare Kelmsely took part in the Junior European Cup after two years of the event unable to be held due to the Covid Pandemic.

National teams from all over the World were invited to take part in the cup which featured a sprint, long distance and a relay event.

In the long-distance event, the area was dominated by the rock castle “Regenstein”, with the character of the area divided into two parts. The southern area is mainly deciduous forest, mountainous with large and small rock walls and stones made of sandstone. The northern area resembles a dune landscape and consists of mainly pine forest. The runnability of both parts changes from fast high forest to smaller, runnable tickets to difficult undergrowth.

The relay took place in hilly mountainous terrain with a number of rock faces, mixed forest is dominant and the runnability of the forest changes from fast high forest to runnable tickets to difficult undergrowth.

The sprint discipline took place in a typical half-timbered town with hilly garden and park areas.

Well done to all those who took part, results as follows:
