British Schools Orienteering Championships at Graves Park

The 2022 British Schools Orienteering Championships are coming soon and will be staged at Graves Park, Sheffield on Sunday 20th November 2022.

Graves Park is Sheffield’s largest park and provides a wide variety of orienteering terrain.  As well as a good path network and open spaces, there are wooded valleys, steepening at the west, with old mineral workings providing a small area of interesting contour detail. There is also a cafe, playground and rare-breeds animal farm to entertain non-orienteers! Why not enter now and join in what promises to be an exciting day of competition.

Who can take part?

The event is for pupils in years 5 to 13. Pupils younger than year 5 can enter as long as they are competent on white courses. Schools do not have to be members of the British Schools Orienteering Association to enter. It is not necessary for a member of the school staff to accompany the team, but the team must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Entries from individuals are also welcomed, as are home-schooled children. Competitors should have competed in at least three orienteering events at the appropriate standard before the Schools Championships.

So why not come along and join in in what promises to be an exciting day of Orienteering.

For full details and how to enter visit club hosts South Yorkshire Orienteers event webpage.

Entries close on Thursday 3rd November 2022.
