World Orienteering Championships 2023: Middle Qualification and Long Distance Round Up

Long Distance

Megan Carter-Davies again showed what good form she was in taking the lead just losing the top spot in the closing stages.

Unfortunately, the last few women including the dominant Tove Alexandersson were too strong and even though at one point it looked as though she could hold on for a podium place in 6th she slipped down into 7th position, which is still an incredible top 10 finish to add to her recent results!

The event in the end was won by Simona Aebersold in front of her home crowd, Tove Alexandersson concluded in second and Andrine Benjaminsen in third.

Great Britain’s Cecilie Andersen and Jo Shepherd finished 30th and 31st respectively.
