Who has been a star in your club this year? It’s time to nominate in our Annual Awards!

Each year British Orienteering presents a number of awards to recognise the incredible effort and impact delivered by clubs, coaches, mappers, and volunteers across orienteering. 

We are delighted to announce that nominations for the Club, Coach and Volunteer Awards, alongside the Mapping Awards, are now open!

Each year British Orienteering presents a number of awards to recognise the incredible effort and impact delivered by clubs, coaches, mappers, and volunteers across orienteering. 

We are delighted to announce that nominations for the Club, Coach and Volunteer Awards, alongside the Mapping Awards, are now open!

All nominations must be made using the individual nomination forms available via our website.

The deadline to nominate is Sunday 25 February 2024. A list of the winners will be announced on the first day of JK 2024, where they will also receive their awards.

Club, Coach and Volunteer Awards categories

This year, British Orienteering are excited to introduce a new award category: the Spirit of Inclusion Award, which aims to recognise the success of club initiatives or projects that aimed to reach currently under-represented groups in orienteering.

A full list of the award categories for the Club, Coach and Volunteer Awards are listed below:

  • Club of the Year Award
  • University Club of the Year Award
  • Development and Innovation of the Year Award
  • Volunteer of the Year Award
  • Young Volunteer of the Year Award
  • Coach of the Year Award
  • Respect the Environment Award
  • Spirit of Inclusion Award (New!)
  • Continued Contribution to Orienteering Award
  • Silva Award

Mapping Awards categories

The Map Advisory Group would like to invite nominations for the Chichester, Silva and Walsh Trophies. Maps should have been first used at events held between 1st Jan 2023 and 31st Dec 2023.

A list of the Mapping Award categories is listed below:

  • Bonington Trophy (best contribution to mapping)
  • Chichester Trophy (best map produced by an amateur mapper)
  • Silva Trophy (best professionally produced map)
  • Walsh Trophy (best urban or sprint map drawn to ISSOM specification)

Top
