GB Squad heads to Hungary for pre-WOC 2027 training camp

Last week, members of the GB squad flew out to Hungary for a pre-WOC 2027 camp. The main goal of the trip was to learn how to orienteer in relevant terrain for next summer’s World Orienteering Championships.
Orienteering safely around dogs (your own or other people’s)

Dogs are everywhere nowadays with dog ownership doubling since the pandemic. So, what can we do? We can’t retrain all the dogs / owners. We can’t avoid orienteering in parks and towns where there are dogs, one or two of which may not be fully under close control. It’s not all doom and gloom, though, as we explore more in this blog.

Only 2 weeks after the Manchester sprint selection races, aspiring GB athletes turned their attention to the forest, taking on some (hopefully) Czechia-relevant terrain in the South-East/Central regions. For those athletes who are prioritising forest races this year, this was the next step towards GB selection after the JK in Scotland.
