| Description: | 1 Hour night score event. 30 controls with varying points and totalling 600. Penalty 1 point lost for each 6 seconds or part there-of over the hour. Bonuses at the same rate if you get all the controls under the hour. Several controls are of yellow/orange difficulty for less experienced night orienteers. Competitors take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. ‘No Whistle, no go’ will be in force. You need to have a spare light for night events. If the weather is bad, cagoules will be compulsory. Please come prepared. It is advisable to take a mobile phone and the organisers number is on the map. The safety bearing is East to the minor road. |

| Course description: | Plantation forest on Mendip plateau between 250 and 290m. Multiple features from historical surface mining and sink holes. Runnability variable and competitors are advised to avoid brambles shown by the narrow screen. Numerous paths and forest tracks although some of the small tracks are indistinct at night. Map: • 1:7,500 scale with 5m contours. • Peel Land Surveys 2018 with updates by Trevor Crowe in 2023 & 2025 • Waterproof size A4 with courses overprinted. • Loose control descriptions will be available at the start. |
