Here are the university competitions that your university could take part in throughout the year.
The BUCS Orienteering weekend consists of a two-day major championship. It offers male and female championships, along with relay championships. The event caters for competitors of all abilities with different lengths and difficulty courses offered. This means anyone can participate, whether you are an experienced orienteer or just started the sport!
Congratulations to Edinburgh for their BUCS 2025 victory.
The 2026 BUCS competition will be hosted by the University of Bristol on the 14th and 15th of March.

The English Universities weekend brings together a number of orienteering universities from around England to compete. This competition is held and organised by an English university each year.
OUOC are hosting the competition in 2026. More information coming soon!
The Scottish Universities weekend brings together a number of orienteering universities from around Scotland to compete. This competition is held and organised by a Scottish university each year.
Thanks to EUOC who hosted the 2025 competition, and well done to all that took part.
The Individual Course took place at Loch Katrine, with the Relays held at Fall of Lenny.
Congratualtions to EUOC for taking the overall victory.
The World University Championships are for national representative teams (GB & NI). The Championships are held every two years in various countries across the world. The next Championships will be held in Portugal in 2026.

The European Universities Championships (EUC) are held biannually, with the orienteering event held in a different location each year.
Oxford University Orienteering Club attended the European University Orienteering Championships in Lodz, Poland. Read their blog of the weekend here: OUOC compete at the 2025 European University Orienteering Championships.
The 2027 orienteering championships will be held in Kastamonu, Turkey.
